Effective Leadership Academy

Chamber Leadership Academy (CLA), a youth chamber program, takes ELA’s personal development programming to the next level by partnering with local chambers of commerce, area municipalities, elected officials, and entrepreneurs to turn a city into a classroom. They interlace experiences and perspectives of community leaders into their curriculum and set it against the backdrop of the host city.

Effective Leadership Academy, (ELA) highlights the importance of keeping an open mind, thinking outside the box, developing and adhering to a personal code of ethics, and embracing change. Their goal is to provide a transformational experience to inspire youth to become the pilot of their own lives. Research conducted by Harvard University, the Carnegie Foundation, and Stanford Research Center, shows that 85% of job success comes from having well developed soft skills and people skills, or as we call it LEADERSHIP.

In this 5-day program, each day is anchored by a central theme, is closely associated with a specific leadership skillset, and the location is carefully selected in the host city. ELA’s expert facilitators carefully construct a panel of speakers with unique perspectives and experiences that highlight the day’s chosen theme, and develop custom-designed curriculum and activities that aim to strengthen the student’s 21st century skillset.

Through their customized, hands-on curriculum, all students participate in activities designed to help them learn how to work cooperatively, think creatively, communicate effectively, and grow in their leadership.
